• When working on larger areas such as walls and floors, use a stencil that has reference lines cut into it so you can easily line up your pattern when moving on from one spot to the next. • When tackling larger surfaces, buy two or three stencils to make your job go a bit quicker; this way, you can alternate the stencils and use one that has had time to dry. • If you’re concerned about using one pattern in conjunctio­n with another pattern, as Kim Green did with the mirror frame on her bedroom wall ( see page 82), opt for similar hues to create a cohesive look.
