A fabulous new façade

Steph and Karen du Toit transformed the façade of their Swellendam home by replacing the old corrugated-iron awning with a wooden floor to create a functional balcony. One of the two upper windows was then turned into a door that opens up onto the new balcony and the old wooden pillars were replaced with longer, sturdier ones. The original awning was then used to create a roof above the balcony. The cast-iron details in white work beautifully with the walls painted in Prominent Paints’ Charcoal and a stoep floor in red completes the look.
