That always seem to come

I love the little violas – I can’t bring myself to pull them out!

Hanniki loves gravel and uses it throughout her garden. It’s cheaper than paving and more waterwise than lawn. “Initially, after the additions to my house had been completed, I just had bare soil and building sand here. In winter, I literally sank into the ground and it was then that I realised I’d better start putting down some gravel! Apart from being an affordable, practical solution, it is also a wonderful way to demarcate pathways and flowerbeds. The gravel is raked once a week to keep it neat and to get rid of all the fallen flowers and leaves. When it gets too sparse, we add more stones. If it gets too thick in those areas where there is little foot traffic, we simply rake some away.” >>
