Hanniki’s garden décor tips

-

Decide on a theme and use it throughout your garden, she says. “Repeat décor elements or choose one or two colours for coating accessories and use them consistently.”

Get creative and keep your eyes open for things that you can repurpose – like the pink pram Hanniki used in her front garden.

An old stop sign that had been lying on the pavement for quite a while was coated with craft paint and adorned with a picture Hanniki copied off a piece of embroidery fabric.

Everyone’s taste differs. Use items you are drawn to and that have sentimental value. Hanniki bought the David bust and its plinth with money her mom gave her; it has a special place in her heart.

Use colours that go together, such as these Crassula flowers which have been placed against a wall painted in a matching shade.

The items you display must be striking and unusual. Look for things that complement each other and group them together. This eyecatching display is just outside Hanniki’s kitchen door. >>
