GORGEOUS GREYS

Home (South Africa) - - RENOVATION -

The couple turned a cold, dark patio into a bright entertainment area complete with a fireplace, bar and pizza oven. To create an airy, light space, they removed the existing patio roof and added exposed wooden beams and white Chromadek roof sheeting. Pops of colour such as the yellow-painted heirloom cabinet make the space contemporary and fun.

Ours is the house that everyone pops into for a drink or dinner, so having an outdoor space in which to host is vital. – Tammy

We love the openings behind the bar that the couple decided to leave without windows or patio blinds. Two shades of grey have been combined to great effect on the patio. Walls painted with Plascon Beijing Moon (lighter shade) and Earthcote Ja Boetie Johan (darker shade); black pendant and white ottoman from Block & Chisel, bar stools from Cane World; the rug is an offcut from the bedroom carpeting

The home’s facade is modern and inviting thanks to the light grey with its warm brown undertone. The original pergola was painted white and pillars were added for contrast. Exterior walls painted with Plascon Beijing Moon; daybed from MRP Home; scatters covered in outdoor fabric from Hertex
