JAMES AND ROXY
James Diack, who also studied at the ICA in Stellenbosch, is chef patron at three of Johannesburg’s top bistros: Coobs, The National and The Federal. His culinary journey was inspired by travel – most notably a pilgrimage through Spain – and, these days, he is passionate about using the delicious seasonal ingredients supplied to his restaurants by his family farm Brightside in Magaliesburg. James’s dedication to producing top-quality cuisine is matched by his devotion to pit bulls and his desire to rectify their bad reputation. He takes any opportunity to show off his loving and playful rescue pit bull, Roxy.
