Hy’t in sy kinderjare begin toneelspeel nadat sy dramajuffrou hom oortuig het om ’n professionele akteur te word. Hy’t toe by die Annex Children’s Theatre in Education-teaterskool in Toronto aangesluit. Sy eerste groot rol was as Josh McKellar in die sitkom van 2007 The Winner.
