UHAMBO LOKUGCINA NOKUKHOTHAMA KWENKOSI U-ISAIAH SHEMBE

KUVAMILE ukuthola abantu bekhuluma izinto ezingesilona iqiniso uma bekhuluma ngokukhothama kweNkosi yaseKuphakameni, uMprofethi Isaiah “Mqaliwendlela” Shembe. Phakathi kwalezi zimfundiso-ze kukhona naleyo ethi uShembe wahlatshwa wukugula kukamalaleveva emuva kokulunywa wumiyane ohambeni lwakhe lokugcina lwasenyakatho yeKwaZulu, abanye abantu bakhuluma ukuthi wangenwa ngamakhaza emuva kokubhabhadisa isikhathi eside.
Sibone kunesidingo sokuthi sithathe leli thuba lezinsuku zokukhothama kwayo inkosi ukuba siwuqondise kahle lo mlando. Okunye lo mlando okufundisayo wukuthi uShembe wayesazi konke ngohambo lwakhe lwasemoyeni olwaluzondela kulezo zinsuku.
Kulinganiselwa ekutheni uShembe wazalwa ngeminyaka ye-1870, ezalwa nguMayekisa kuMaHadebe eNtabazwe emzini waKwaNontandabathakathi. Waqala umsebenzi wokwakha ibandla lamaNazaretha cishe ngeminyaka ye-1908. Emuva kwale minyaka wabuyela emuva eNtabazwe waphinda wabuya ngonyaka we-1910, akabange-ke esabu- yela ezweni lakubo. Walihola ibandla laseKuphakameni iminyaka engama-25 uma ubala kusuka ngowe-1910. Noma iminyaka isingama-82 uShembe wahamba emhlabeni kodwa imisebenzi yakhe isalokhu ihleli nathi. Phakathi kwale misebenzi yimithetho eminingi kakhulu yobungcwele ayifundisa amaNazaretha.
Le mithetho uShembe afundisa ngayo miningi kakhulu kunebhalwe eBhayibhelini njengoba abanye baye bafundise ukuthi uShembe wayezofundisa imithetho kaMose. Kasazi-ke ukuthi lena eminye eminingi ayeyifundisa wayeyithathaphi uma kuliqiniso ukuthi wayezofundisa ngemithetho kaMose kuphela.
Nayo leyo mfundiso siyibona iyimfundiso-ze ephambanayo nalokho uShembe ayekufundisa nayikho yena uqobo. Esikholwa yikhona thina baseKuphakameni wukuthi uShembe wayefakaza ngemithetho kaMose njengeminye yemithetho kaNkulunkulu okwakubalulekile ukuba abantu bayazi bayigcine.
Lokhu wayengakusho ngokuthi yiyona kuphela kwayo le mithetho okungekaNkulunkulu nokuthi kayisekho eminye futhi. UShembe ufike kuleli lizwe seziningi kakhulu izinkonzo nemithetho yezindlela zokukhonza kwazo, eyayiphambana noNkulunkulu.
Ngakho-ke kwakubalulekile ukuthi abehlukanisele abantu emithethweni eyayisivele ikhona eyiqiniso naleyo eyayingesilona, okwakuzolekela ekutheni phezu kwaleyo mithetho kaMose abasebeyazi abantu bese yena uyayengeza. Ngosuku uShembe aphuma ngalo okokugcina eKuphakameni ngoNdasa (March) we-1935, wenza inkonzo yokuvalelisa endlini yaseGinyezinye.
Kule nkozo wakhuluma amazwi anzima kakhulu kubantu bakhe wathi namuhla ngingumakoti ngiyaba. Wakhumbuza abantu ngemithetho yonke ayebafundise yona ukuba bayigcine, wayigcizelela kakhulu indaba yokugcinwa kwemithetho yonke yobuNazaretha. Wayesethi kodwa labo abangayigcinanga le mithetho, mabayephule kakhulu bengabe besayeka.
Wathi umuntu nomuntu lowo mthetho akade ewuphula akawuphule kakhulu kuze kungathi uma esesha esihogweni athi mina ngone kancane. Emuva kwalokho waphuma eKuphakameni kusuka endlini yaseGinyezinye ayekade ekuyona waze wayophuma ngesango egaqa ngamadolo. Le ndoda yakwaMjadu uShembe wayekade eyibhalele incwadi, eyikhuthaza ukuba iqine ekukholweni ngoba izinsuku zabo seziphelile emhlabeni kanti kuzothi kulezo zinsuku ingakashoni ingene esonweni. UShembe-ke usuka nje eKuphakameni uya emzini wayo le ndoda uyoyihlambulula esonweni sayo.
Kuthe kulezo zinsuku le ndoda yadlula emhlabeni yafika ezulwini yaboshwa ngenxa yecala lendodakazi yayo. Uma uShembe esuka eNelisiwe waya eGibisila, eRichards Bay lapho kwafika khona indoda eyayibizwa ngoCharles Dube ithunywe wuhulumeni wabelungu ukuba iyocela uShembe avume ukujova ukuze nabantu bakhe bezovuma ngoba bayenqaba.
Akavumanga ukujova uShembe. Ukunqaba kwakhe kwayithukuthelisa kakhulu le ndoda yakwaDube. UShembe wasuka lapho wagibela isitimela waya enyakatho, wehla eBhiyela. Uma bekulo lolo hambo, uShembe uthi: “Bantabami, kade ngihambile ngisayohlola indlela yami.”
Uthi ufice abantu abaningi kakhulu, izinkulungwane ngezigidi ezingenakubalwa zimile esigodini sosizi. Uthi-ke laba bantu babeboshiwe ngenxa yokwephula imithetho kaShembe ayebafundise yona. Uthi-ke,
“Bantabami, mkhulu kakhulu umsebenzi ongihlalele lapha engiya khona.” Uthi omunye umhlobo wakhe umfice khona lapho engembethe, wamembesa isembatho sakhe. Wabe esethumela ukuthi amakhosazane ayehamba nawo makayobheka isembatho sakhe leso ayethe usembese lowo mhlobo wakhe.
Ngempela abantwana ayebathumile kabasitholanga. Uma uShembe esohambeni lwakhe olubheke enyakatho, kwafika amadoda amabili ayakhele inkosi yakwaMyeni, uMabuyakhulu noMbazini. UMabuyakhulu wabe esemcela uShembe ukuba ayoshadisa indodakazi yakhe uGwalagwala eyayiyoganela kwaMdletshe.
Wayezosuka lapho kwaMabuyakhulu adlule aphikelele eMseleni lapho ayebheke khona ukuyobhabhadisa abantu abasebephendukile. Uma uShembe ehla esitimeleni, kwaqhamuka indoda yakwaMyeza eyayihambe imemezela ukuthi uShembe useyahamba emhlabeni. Nakhona lapho abanye abantu ababehamba noShembe kabanakanga ukuthi ithini le ndoda uma ithi useyahamba emhlabeni.
Ngaphambi kokufika kwaMabuyakhulu, uShembe waqala emzini wakwaThabethe. Uma-ke esekwaMabuyakhulu, wahamba wayobhabhadisa abantu esizibeni KwaDingunina. Wathi uShembe elapho kwafika le ndoda yakwaThabathe iyocela ukuba nayo ayibhabhadise kodwa wangavuma ukuyibhabhadisa ngenxa yokuthi yayihleli ne- nkosikazi yomuntu okwala noma uShembe ethi uyayincenga ukuba imyeke kodwa yenqaba.
Namanye amadoda futhi - eyakwaMsibi neyakwaMabuyakhulu - wenqaba ukuwabhabhadisa uShembe, nenkosi yakwaGumede futhi wenqaba ukuyibhabhadisa ngenxa yesono esifanayo. Kusuka lapho-ke uShembe wahamba uhambo lwakhe lokugcina olwalulukhuni kakhulu ebheke eMseleni.
Lolu hambo waluhamba cishe amasonto amabili engaphumuli, kwesinye isikhathi ahambe imini nobusuku, kokunye aphumule kancane kuthi phakathi nobusuku avuke ahambe.
Abantu bo-nke ayehamba nabo basebephelelwe ngamandla nokudla kungasekho. Uma befika oBonjeni enkantolo yemantshi, wabonwa ngumfana owayesebenzela khona wamupha iphalishi kwaba yikhona kudla kwakhe lokho kokugcina.
Kusuka lapho akukho ukudla akutholayo uShembe. Kwenye indawo badlula bacela ukudla, inkosikazi yakhona yathi kakukho, kukhona inhlama yotshwala. UShembe wayithatha leyo nhlama wayibusisa wanika ayehamba nabo wathi mabayidle. Ukusuka lapho badla amaganu okuthiwa babewadlisa okwezimbuzi. Ithunyelwe nguMshumayeli Thetha Ngiba
