CEO LETTER

ELMAR CONRADIE

- Elmar Conradie

At FlySafair we respect that you have a choice of airlines, and I’m so glad to be able to welcome you aboard our aircraft today.

Aviation is a very exciting industry to work in and it can also be incredibly demanding. Our business has a very real operational element to it.The curtain lifts on our daily performance at about 05h30 and only falls at about 22h30. It takes a very special team to manage an aviation operation, and an exceptional one to do it well.

We’re incredibly proud to hold the honour of being the most on-time airline not only in the country, but in the world. We were given this title earlier this year by airline data monitoring company OAG who monitor the performance of all airlines using the international standard 15-minute window to departure.

The team behind this title is an incredible one and what unites us all is one common love: flying. We often joke that jet fuel runs in our veins here at Safair, and there’s every reason to believe that’s true. Our technicians live for the magnificent engineering behind our aircraft, which they admire every day when taking care of our flying machines. Our pilots and crew get itchy feet if they’re on land for too long, and our airport teams tell me that they love those moments of joy when friends and family are united by air travel.

We also love seeing more people fly and uniting them with who and what they love. That’s why we always try to keep our prices as low as possible. So look out for our new routes between Durban and PE, and Durban and East London. We will also be increasing some of our frequencies out of Cape Town from later this year.

Our hope is that we’ve managed to share a little bit of our passion with you today. It’s easy to do what you love and it’s a privilege to be able to share your passions with others. If you’ve had a great time, we’d be delighted if you would be so kind as to tell your friends and family about it. If, however, we have fallen short of your expectations, then I encourage you to reach out to us to let us know what we could be doing to make things better by writing to us at feedback@flysafair.co.za.

All the best.
