Ziyenyuka izikhalo ngamabhange – umbiko
UMXAZULULI wezinkinga zamabhange u-Ombudsman for Banking Services (OBS), uNkk Reanna Styn uveze ukuthi zenyukile izikhalo zabantu ngamabhange njengoba ngonyaka odlule ethole izikhalo ezingu-7 057 uma kuqhathaniswa nezingu-5 690 ayezithole ngo-2016.
UNkk Steyn uveze lezi zindaba izolo, eGauteng ngesikhathi ethula umbiko wakhe wokusebenza.
“Inhloso yethu wukuqinisekisa ukuthi amabhange aphatha kahle abathengi, siye sicele ukuthi umuntu aqale afake isikhalo kwibhange lakhe ngaphambi kokudlulela kuthina. Sithole ukuthi baningi abeza ehhovisi lethu ngenxa yokungasizakali emabhange. U-77% wabantu ukhala ngokuqolwa uma besebenzisa i-cellphone banking ne-online banking. U-18% ubukhala ngokuqolwa kumaATM bese ezinye izikhalo kube ngezokulahleka kwemali,” kusho uNkk Steyn.
Uphinde wakhala ngokugxekwa kwehhovisi lakhe ngabantu abasuke bengavunwanga yimiphumela yophenyo.
“Kunabantu abathi sicheme namabhange kodwa lokhu akusilo iqiniso ngoba sisebenzela abathengi futhi sikhona ukuqinisekisa ukuthi kunobudlelwano obuhle phakathi kwamabhange nomphakathi. Sifuna amabhange asebenze ngokulandela umthetho,” kusho uNkk Steyn.
Uthe amacala bawaphenya bawaqede kungapheli izinsuku ezingu-34 okusho ukuthi bayashesha ukukhipha imiphumela.
Uthe izikhalo eziningi bazithole eGauteng naKwaZulu-Natal, kwathi ezincane zavela eNorthern Cape naseNorth West.
