All hail Zizou

Zinedine Zidane led Real Madrid to a Champions League and La Liga double and in the process, Los Blancos became the first team to retain Europe’s premier club competition trophy in the modern era. The 4-1 demolition of Juventus was a fitting finale to the football this Madrid side played all season. Even rivals Barcelona, especially during Pep Guardiola’s tenure when they were dominating La Liga, didn’t manage to retain the coveted prize. Despite previously hiring big name managers such as Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez, they were never able to dominate European football like they just did with Zidane at the helm. Zidane has reached great heights as a manager in such a short space of time, and deserves high praise.
