After the 2010 World Cup, ‘Mbazo’ went on to add just another three caps, quickly falling out of favour with new cosch Pitso Mosimane. The World Cup captain’s

international career was suddenly over just prior to his 30th birthday but the 107 caps he earned since breaking into the senior national team as a teenager makes him the only South African to reach a century of appearances. Mokoena played in Europe for 14 years, half of them in England, and upon his return home in 2012 only played for a season at BidVest Wits before calling time on his career. Since then he has been involved as a shadow technical team member at Swallows FC and the national team.

Ngcongca was already an established regular at the Belgian club where he also played UEFA Champions League football, but has been back home playing for Mamelodi Sundowns for the past four years after having also spent a year at French club Troyes. He won both the league and cup in Belgium, and has another five trophies to date through his time at Chloorkop. In the four years since he returned to South Africa, he has hasn’t added to his 53 caps.
