Beautiful homes and Intelligent building
As a resident of Knysna, words will never be able to explain the fear, trauma, anxiety and horror that you as an individual, family and community experienced with the recent fires. What Mother Nature did to you in days will take the community years to rebuild.
Knysna will be remembered in years to come as Knysna in the days before the fires, and life after the fires.
The love, generosity, kindness, prayers and bravery shown by thousands in the Garden Route and the rest of South Africa, was for many people, having their prayers answered, and giving them that slither of silver on those elusive rain clouds to begin rebuilding their broken lives.
A STREAM OF LOVE
We at Intelligent Building Systems International (IBSI) want to be one of those hundreds of silver rays that are now streaming lovingly into Knysna. You all know victims of the Knysna fires that have lost everything. It is now time, as a community, as a country, to rebuild what was one of the country’s most enviable lifestyles and picturesque destinations.
IBSI is wanting to make a substantial contribution in this effort to help all the Knysna victims. Our Australian based Company has been working on a number of alternative building solutions across various sectors, including disaster housing relief, student accommodation, residential and city rebuilding. IBSI also has offices in China, USA and its South African operational office is located in Cape Town.
With immediate effect our local agency director Bernard Schneider has moved to Wilderness to be “hands-on” in the area.
Bernard has had extensive exposure and experience in all aspects of property development, including developments in both Wilderness and Port Elizabeth.
South African IBSI Director, Francois Bryuns has been pioneering the efforts and innovation in building methodologies for over a decade and for the past two years specifically in South Africa.
REMARKABLE STRUCTURES
“The structures we have are quite remarkable, robust, durable, easily customised and above all can be completed within eight weeks for small units and twelve to sixteen weeks for upmarket homes without any compromise on aesthetics or building codes. The build technologies we employ can be incorporated across all types of structures including affordable to upmarket residential homes, commercial offices, schools, community centres and so much more,” Francois said.
“Everything we create incorporates the ‘plug and play’ concept and is focused on being environmentally friendly, with sustainability and longevity in mind. IBSI has a worldwide team of in-house experts consisting of architects, engineers and procurement specialists who have developed this incredible building solution continually incorporating global experience and “best solution practice”.
“We have formed a close association with Raubex, a listed Big 5 construction company, and we are working with them on a number of exciting jobs throughout Africa, including 12 upmarket hotels. The MD of their housing division has now visited our offices in Australia twice and has been blown away by both our housing and student accommodation solutions, in fact he called our system the “new bricks and mortar,’’ explains Francois.
IBSI has a number of projects on the go at the moment, primarily in Australia and New Zealand and is in the process of building their first upmarket homes on the Wedgewood Golf Estate development in Port Elizabeth. Australian based Company Director and CEO, Troy Bingham, has supported the South African team’s directive to concentrate all efforts to assist the victims of the Knysna fires given the extent to which rapid, quality solutions will be required.
He will personally be visiting Knysna in July to see exactly how and what contribution IBSI will make to the “rebuilding Knysna” process.
IBSI’s South Africa operation is registered with the NHBRC and certified by Agrément South Africa.
INFORMATION PROGRAMMES ON REBUILDING HOMES
IBSI will be running three information presentation sessions on Thursday, July 13 at The Moorings, 1 George Rex Dr, Rexford, Knysna, (see full page IBSI advert for more details) for people wanting to know more about the building technology and considering the IBSI system for rebuilding their homes, quickly, efficiently and cost effectively. The technology has numerous thermal and acoustic benefits, is a green product in that it utilizes recycled products and minimal water and most importantly has amazing fire resistance properties.
This presentation will be ideal for local home owners, building contractors, architects, QS’s, engineers, electricians, plumbers and any business owners in the area, who are looking to assist those in need as well as investigate alternative ways of building, on a small or large scale, rapidly and cost effectively.
