Knysna Tourism (previously Knysna & Partners) provides destination management and marketing services for the benefit of the entire local economy.

These services include accommodation bookings; brochure display and distribution; website management and promotion; attendance at international and national trade shows; exhibitions and road shows; promotions of events and festivals; marketing; public relations and communications; social media; weekly newsletters to a database of about 5 000 subscribers; production of brochures and maps; hosting of trade and media educationals; and networking with prominent regional and national tourism bodies including SA Tourism and Wesgro.

Knysna Tourism chair Elmay Bouwer says virtually every business in Greater Knysna benefits directly or indirectly from tourism. “It is one of the key economic drivers of the Knysna economy on which so many businesses and residents of this town are dependent – from the garage owner and forecourt attendants, guesthouses and hotels, restaurants and golf courses, to retail businesses, architects, decor shops, medical and legal practitioners, and activity suppliers,” said Bouwer. Membership fees are just R750 a year – or R62.50 a month. Knysna Tourism and its satellite office Sedgefield Tourism are hosting an open day on Friday 27 October from 11:00 to 15:00 for anyone who would like to meet the team* Call Janine on
