Test your blood sugar levels

Knysna Lions, in conjunctio­n with registered nurses from Knysna Provincial Hospital as well as Life Hospital Knysna, will provide a free service to the public in line with World Diabetes Day on 14 November. Venues: 18, 25 November – Woodmill Lane; 1 December – Hornlee clinic. Other venues might be added later, so please be on the lookout on social media.

Fine art

Visit Knysna Fine Art gallery at Thesen House to celebrate its two decades in the wonderful world of art. For the occasion, more than a hundred works by 80 establishe­d and new artists are on show.

A Pledge for nature

As part of a Wessa fundraiser for Pledge Nature Reserve in Knysna, Nanna Joubert and Pat Nurse will lead us on Saturday 18 November around the reserve, which is located in the centre of town. The fires of June virtually annihilate­d the reserve, but with the recent rains, regrowth has started. Join us from 10:00 to 12:00 for this occasion, but please book with Christine before 15 November at wessageorg­e@isat.co.za. Participat­ion fee of R50 pp but larger donations most welcome!

Take a tour down memory lane

The Knysna Historical Society invites you to take a virtual tour of the historic buildings in Knysna’s Main Street on Tuesday 21 November at 17:30 in Cearn Hall, Leisure Isle. From the comfort of your seat, follow Cathie Garner as she shows you what the buildings looked like then and now and describes their history. Members only, one guest per member at R30.

Rotarians get together

The Rotary Club of Knysna meets at the Knysna Yacht Club every Tuesday from 12:30 onwards for the lunch meeting from 13:00 to 14:00. All visiting Rotarians are welcome as well as potential new members.

Knysna parkrun, free, timed 5km run every Saturday at 08:00, starting at grassed area next to the scout hall in George Rex Drive. The aim is to promote health and fitness.
