Truck & Vine Fest delights

- Yolandé Stander

Plettenberg Bay’s second Truck & Vine Festival was a resounding success with more than 600 residents and visitors soaking up the warm weather, good food and wine on Sunday 15 April.

The event, which is a showcase of street food, wine and music, was hosted at the Kay and Monty Vineyards on the outskirts of the town.

Organised by Mediaboxx, the event offered visitors a choice between delectable eats from seven food trucks as well as craft beer stands and a gin bar.

Among the food trucks were three local ones: Greg’s Cookin, Plett on the Go and La Cafeteria. Ice Palazzo also served their ice creams.

These were enjoyed while three musicians from Port Elizabeth provided soothing sounds to accompany the food and drinks.

The weather also played along, with temperatures ranging between 24 and 26ºC throughout the day.

“It went really well and we are hoping to do another event like this later this year. It will also be in the Plett Winelands and will most likely be in September or October this year,” said Plett Tourism spokesperson Patty Butterworth.
