Spring is here so food lovers can get their eat on in the sun at the Visa Street Food Festival 2017. The food stalls pay homage to South Africa’s street-food culture. There will also be live music and soapbox talks on entreprene­urship. This is an open conversati­on between artists and the aim is to blur the lines between artistic practice and anxiety. The public talk will take place on September 9 at the Auto & General Theatre on the Square in Sandton, Johannesbu­rg, from 3.15pm to 4pm. Admission is free.

Try the latest gaming, find literature in various languages and there is a space for artists to work on tech-driven projects. The area will give visitors an opportunit­y to develop in their fields through mentorship programmes and talks that will take place throughout the year. This is a music conference where local and internatio­nal artists discuss the business of music in a series of masterclas­ses and workshops. People have the opportunit­y to develop skills, plans collaborat­ions and share their demos with profession­als from Africa and beyond.
