Postgraduate Funding Opportunities

- Leigh WIls

Studying beyond a degree is can be a positive investment in your future and there are many benefits that come with this choice. These include gaining specialised knowledge, further developing your knowledge and understanding of a field, and in some cases, it may open you up to more employment opportunities. Here is a list of some sources of postgraduate funding.

University Merit Awards

In line with the goal to increase their research output, a number of universities offer postgraduate merit awards to students who intend to pursue postgraduate study. The funding usually comes in the form of a scholarship that is dependent on some criteria such as tutoring for the university or having a specified eligibility. Wits University for instance offers Postgraduate University Merit Awards that cover tuition fees and a stipend.
