Young artist’s dreams coming true

Dante van Kradenburg is starting to get the recognition he deserves

-

There are those of us who take many years to figure out what we want to do with our lives and then there are those special people, who instinctively understand what their purpose is on this earth. One such person is Dante van Kradenburg, a young man from Roodepoort, who knew from a young age that he wanted to be an artist.

Van Kradenburg has been creating art since the age of three — starting by drawing cars and eventually graduating to creating portraits and a variety of abstract work with a touch of realism — and now he is getting the recognition he deserves.

He recently won seven accolades, two of which are diplomas. Among others, he won a Diamond award at an Eisteddfod competition, won a prize at the Youth Art Festival, an award at a school ceremony and an unexpected trophy.

This award-winning artist now has his eyes set on hosting his own exhibition someday and is currently putting in the work and research by visiting art galleries and expanding his knowledge. Van Kradenburg is already taking part in two exhibitions in 2024.

When asked what his dream is, he was clear and concise: he wants to open his own art gallery and expand on his graphic design, animation and illustration. He also aspires to work with well-known brands such as Nike.

If this is not a clear example of following your dreams, then what is?

Artists are the authors of history, and we can be sure that Van Kradenburg will be one of those who contribute to what we leave behind when we are no longer here, and someday one young person will be sure to say: “When I grow up, I want to be like him.”

?? ?? These artworks may soon be part of an exhibition – and ultimately, Van Kradenburg wants to open his own art gallery one day.
