Athlete, aged 8, finishes 50th parkrun
On Saturday, 2 September, the 129th Hartenbos parkrun took place and 182 people came to celebrate the Spring day.
Sibusiso Kumalo and Hannes van Broekhuizen did their 50th event as volunteers and Gerold Whittaker, his 100th event as a volunteer. However, what made this day extremely special was the participation of the youngest parkrunner at Hartenbos. He completed his 50th event. Tihan Labuschagne, though only eight years old, has run 250km in total at Hartenbos parkruns. His personal best so far at this event is 39 minutes 24 seconds. Tihan is a Grade 1 learner at Curro Mossel Bay.
