Farewell to Winnie Mandela
ANC stalwart Winnie Madikizela Mandela will have an official national funeral.
President Cyril Ramaphosa made the declaration following the recent death of the anti-apartheid icon.
A national memorial service was held at the Orlando Stadium on 11 April and the funeral will be held tomorrow, on Saturday 14 April. The ardent anti-apartheid campaigner will be honoured with a state funeral at Fourways Memorial Park Cemetery.
Government announced that the burial would be part of a “Special Official Funeral Category 1”. The proceedings will be broadcast internationally.
Mossel Bay's executive mayor, Alderman Harry Levendal, invites the community to join him in to celebrating the life of the struggle icon Winnie Madikizela-Mandela at a memorial service on Friday, 13 April 2018 at 13:00 in the Mossel Bay Town Hall.
