Farewell to Winnie Mandela

ANC stalwart Winnie Madikizela Mandela will have an official national funeral.

President Cyril Ramaphosa made the declaratio­n following the recent death of the anti-apartheid icon.

A national memorial service was held at the Orlando Stadium on 11 April and the funeral will be held tomorrow, on Saturday 14 April. The ardent anti-apartheid campaigner will be honoured with a state funeral at Fourways Memorial Park Cemetery.

Government announced that the burial would be part of a “Special Official Funeral Category 1”. The proceeding­s will be broadcast internatio­nally.

Mossel Bay's executive mayor, Alderman Harry Levendal, invites the community to join him in to celebratin­g the life of the struggle icon Winnie Madikizela-Mandela at a memorial service on Friday, 13 April 2018 at 13:00 in the Mossel Bay Town Hall.
