Dedicated training pays off

-

Curro Mossel Bay learner and provincial cyclist Linél Engelbrecht last weekend reaped the rewards for her dedicated training during the lockdown period.

Racing for the Head Bikes SA & Positive Sports Solutions team in the 2020 Sun City Cycle4CANSA 70km Road Race, Linél won in the U17 age group for girls and finished second on the podium among women overall.

The racing calendar for 2020 is drawing to a close, with limited high profile races on the offering for the provincial riders and possible national selection.

Linél is still to compete in the Western Cape Track Championships at the Belville Velodrome this month and the SA XCO Championship in Cape Town in November.

Later in November, Linél will also participate in the Joburg Grand Prix and Omnium Track Champs to be hosted at the Hector Norris Park track. This series will be used for possible selection for the SA junior track team to participate in the 2021 AFCON Championships in South Africa.
