Event helps youth keen on fashion industry

The Seasonal Fashion Show - a platform showcasing aspects of the fashion industry, such as designers, make-up artists, models and photograph­ers - took place in Mossel Bay this month.

The venue for the function on 14 October was the Isalathiso Primary School Hall in KwaNonqaba.

The following designers featured their designs: Hlumelo Gceya, Simple Spurf, Thando Soko, Lisolomzi and Sango.

The aspiring models had their make-up done by Chulumanco Mavikela and Simphiwe and photos were taken by Sisipho Limphiwe Dukada and Cloe photo studio.

Miyose Mjingo, a young entreprene­ur and aspiring model herself, was the director and the organiser of this fashion show, with the help of her team members, Zeta Jones, Katliso, Iyana and Stan Gray.

A young teacher from Isalathiso Primary School, Miss Mkhetshane, was the MC, along with Katliso, a male MC.

Karen Gray and Deon Lensing advised on and attended the fashion show. As part of their NPO upliftment project, they scouted five aspiring models who will represent team South Africa at Talent America in New York in 2024.

Gray is chair of the Anti-Bullying Academy and owner of Crawlers and Crowns model academy and Eden SA pageants. She is an Unlimited Talent &

Talent America scout.

Lensing is the Anti-Bullying Academy secretary, an Unlimited Talent & Talent America scout and the Current SIR South Africa title holder.

Gray said: “These talented, aspiring models would appreciate any assistance from the community with their fundraisin­g efforts to help make their dreams come true.
