New, friendly face at VitalVet Mossel Bay

-

Your four-legged family member can look forward to seeing a new vet at VitalVet Mossel Bay. He has joined Dr Helen Pringle and Dr Conrad Kruse.

The practice has welcomed Dr Johann Rauch to its team. Originally from the East Rand, Dr Rauch loves animals and aims to ensure all the pets coming through the doors of the practice receive the best treatment and care possible.

If he can make someone smile and laugh, along with the top-tier treatment, he is a happy man.

The doctor, his wife and two sons, have taken up residence in Hartenbos. They love spending quality time together and enjoy a good braai and card games.

When it comes to pets, Dr Rauch is all for adoption. "We only have one pet left, our cat called Covey which, as you can guess, we adopted during Covid. Our other adopted pets have all passed on, but still have a very special place in our hearts."

There isn't a day that goes by in his profession, he said, that one isn’t reminded of how amazing animals are; how their bodies want to recover and heal and how unconditional their love is for us humans.

"That is what I enjoy most about our field. It is a field that humbles you daily, because you are working with someone's best friend and you want to always make sure you are caring for them in the best way possible."

Even though a vet's days are long and often exhausting and stressful, "knowing that we are really making a difference in the lives of those who can't speak for themselves, makes it worth while, for sure", Dr Rauch said.

VitalVet is on the corner of Church and Spring streets.

The practice offers vaccinations, sterilisations, dentistry, ultrasonography, radiology, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery and video endoscopy.
