Mossel Bay’s first Leos club is founded

- Linzetta Calitz

The first board of the newly founded St Blaize Leos Club in Mossel Bay has been chosen and the board members are excited to welcome new members to the club.

For those more familiar with the St Blaize Lions, these young leaders of the Leos are the Lions of the future.

Mia Vorster, the president of the Leos, and her brother, Bernard, were involved with the Lions. This is where they found out there is the option to establish a club for individuals from 18 to 35 years.

District chairman for the Leos, David Jacobs, had approached them to start a club in Mossel Bay.

"My brother and I were both raised in a way that we want to help people and don't expect something in return.

"That's how we ended up taking the step with David and the St Blaize Lions," said

Vorster.

Upon announcing this new board, the Leos said their members embodied the best qualities of this organisation.

"They are devoted young people who realise the power of action. Together, Leos and Lions form a powerful partnership - one of mutual respect, where Lions learn from the innovative insights of Leos, and where Leos gain access to the proven strategies of those who have successfully served the world for decades."

The founding board consists of the following members:

President: Mia Vorster

Vice president: Lindi Nel Secretary: Aydn Parrott Treasurers: Storm Eksteen and Sunel de Lange

Service chair: Bernard Vorster Membership chairs: Henlo Fourie and Dillan Roode

Marketing: Duwin Scholtz.

Mia said anyone from 18 to 35 years was welcome to join the club.
