‘No one-size-fits-all for your skin’
“I’m passionate about health and I always knew that to achieve healthy skin, we need a healthy body.”
These are the words of physiotherapist and senior medical aesthetician Pheladi Maredi, and with an unmatched passion for beauty, vitality and overall wellness, she recently represented South Africa in a number of international sporting events including the Commonwealth Games in
Australia.
Maredi studied physiotherapy and ran her own private practice for 12 years, she tells Polokwane Observer.
“After having my children, I was a stay-at-home mom but I always knew I wanted to go back to work once the kids were older and ready for school. It was during this time that my passion for aesthetics developed. I started branching slowly into medical aesthetics by attending many medical training sessions.”
Maredi is also the founder of Inside Out Aesthetics and Medical Spa situated within Optimal Health which she co-owns with
her husband
Victor, a medical doctor with a passion for integrative and anti-aging medicine.
“Our work is based on the principles of functional medicine which offers root cause approach to diseases,” she said.
Maredi helps her clients by treating their skin “from the inside out to be proud and comfortable in their own skin”.
“We run thorough blood tests to establish the root cause of skin issues and from there we incorporate medical grade supplements, proper nutrition and targeted skin treatments based on what their blood results revealed.
“There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to skin. Each client is unique and therefore their treatment protocol will be personalised for them,” she said.
She added that conducting blood tests allows them to design two to three months’ personalised protocol.
“We learned that treating surface skin problems doesn’t give clients long term results. The skin is part of the body, so correcting imbalances inside-out gives over-all good cellular health. Healthy cells will give you healthy cells with a radiant youthful glow,” she said.
“We need to understand that what we see on the surface is a reflection of what’s happening on the inside.”
Her services include medical facials, chemical peels, anti-aging treatments, botox, fillers, weight loss solutions, hair restoration solutions and pharmaceutical grade skin care.
