FOCUSED LIGHTING
Traditional lighting modernised
THIS TABLE LAMP by German designer Susanne Tesche softens the often glaring quality of LED lighting to create an altogether more subtle effect.
Called Focus, the light reflects against a concave mirror located at the top of the lamp, giving it a softer glow. The lamp is heightadjustable through a sliding mechanism that houses the LED. It can be focused or scattered depending on the user’s needs. To turn the lamp on and off, the user simply has to move the mechanism to one of the ends.
The lamp was entered into last year’s IMM Cologne Pure Talents design competition, where it created huge interest among the media. Sadly, Tesche did not win, but her lamp’s popularity might see it coming to a furniture store near you, soon.
