BURY OUR PROBLEMS

-

I am a technical person and spend a lot of my spare time solving problems as I see them. Nuclear waste, and now plastic and any other kind of waste has become such a huge problem, my mind returns to the idea I had way back.

What if they drilled a hole in the middle of a desert? There are many around the world doing nothing much to help mankind. Drill a hole as deep as possible – kilometres deep –and explode a nuclear bomb to make a very large cavity.

The cavity could hold all kinds of waste for decades, although it may have to be separated into different cavaties. The escaping gases would have to be controlled, but I am sure that wouldn’t be too difficult.

It would be a large undertaking but then it could generate a new industry and employ a lot of people at the same time as disposing waste properly, at a price.

The Kalahari would be a good place to start. HENNIE LAMPRECHT
