MF will regroup and strategise

-

THE outcome of the local government election has sent a clear message: “only the strong will survive”.

This means that political parties will have to show relevance in the next five years in order to woo electors and regain lost ground.

Voting patterns said a lot about how people feel about the state of our country and our elected leaders. They proved that communities aren’t fooled by political theatrics.

Only those political agencies and political personalities that have made an impact on our democracy endured this election.

For the Minority Front, our fortunes may not have been too grand, but the loyal and faithful supporters once again put their trust in us and gave us a mandate to represent them in the eThekwini City Council.

Our one seat means that we will have to work harder to keep the pace that was set by our founding leader, Mr A Rajbansi, and the voter can rest assured, with the leadership of his widow, Mrs Shameen Thakur-Rajbansi, we will serve our constituencies with distinction.

While other parties invested exorbitant amounts in this election, the Minority Front had to stretch its budget to make sure that we produced the best with what we had. No doubt, our candidates put up a strong campaign.

This isn’t the end of the Minority Front, we will regroup and strategise, putting together collective and creative measures to rebuild the party to the formidable political force we all remember it as.

We thank our voters sincerely and pledge our continued diligence to the service of the people. MF all the way! JONATHAN ANNIPEN
