Facials galore to help restore

-

THERE are different kinds of facials for different purposes and skin types.

While a de-tan facial helps remove tanning mostly from oily skin, a gold radiance facial suits most skin types, say some of those in the trade.

Bharti Taneja, director of Alps Beauty Clinic and Academy, and Richa Singh, chief executive at Bigstylist, an online portal which provides at-home beauty and grooming services, have listed these options for facials.

De-tan facial: These facials suit oily skin that gets suntanned. The creams used work on the melanin in skin, to help give “de-tan” results.

Diamond facial: This facial is aimed at special occasions and suits dry, oily as well as combination skin types. Mostly chosen for wedding, parties or festivals. The fine dust massage cream used for this facial helps reduce signs of ageing and acne and lends a brightening effect to the skin.

Aromatherapy facial: The aromatic oils used are said to have a curative and permeating ability. Therapists analyse skin type and suggest the oils, which when blended with base oils, are purported to have beneficial properties.

The aroma of these oils when inhaled apparently works on emotions to effect a physical and psychological response, such as relieving stress, helping overcome depression, energising and enhancing mood.

Collagen facial: Collagen, a natural protein, has the ability to get absorbed and hold moisture in skin. This vital protein makes 70% of the skin but is lost as we age, thus causing wrinkles. The collagen facial aims to replenish this protein to help improve skin texture and resilience.

Photo facial: This facial is the latest non-invasive and comprehensive treatment, which uses light to treat various skin disorders, including wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, coarse skin, large pores and blemishes.

Gold radiance facial: This is said to suit all skin types. The end result of this facial is a yellowish gold glow good for brides as well as women who have to face strong lights that are usually white in colour.

Skin-lightening facial: This facial is said to help visibly lighten the skin tone. Mostly preferred for dry skin, as the creams and masks used for this facial are herbal in nature.

Ultra-hydrating watermelon facial: Beat the last summer heat with this ultra-hydrating watermelon facial created for heat-fatigued skin. Enriched with water-infused extracts, it is said to sink into your skin leaving it revived and refreshed.

Anti-ageing facial: This facial is a good choice for women of 35 to 50 years old. Mostly for combination and normal skin types, the mask used for this facial purports to help lift the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. – IANS
