The diamonds that have been coming out have been on sand mackerel.

The odd sandy and honeycomb have been landed on the same bait.

The guys fishing for kob with bait have been using live shad and live mullet.

The fishing at Zinkwazi is rather mediocre with few reports coming in. There have been a few grey sharks in the evenings on most soft bait put in the water.

There have also been a handful of brown rays throughout the day on red eye cutlet baits.

Fishing off Ballito is still rather productive with many reports of bronze bream, stumpies and small musselcracker coming out of the water.

Bait being used for these species are sealice, crabs and chokka.

There have been somepompano, stumpies, grunter and small shad coming out between the piers on sealice, mussels, cracker, pink prawn, chokka and sardine bait.

In Warner Beach, the fishing has been rather slow with few fish coming out.

In Winklespruit, fishing has been good with reports of garrick and kob been caught on live bait.

The grey sharks have been landed consistently in the evenings in Scottburgh on sardine bait as well as chokka and live baits intended for kob.

Fishing has been good in Port Shepstone with reports of decent edible fish being caught on bait and spinning tackle.

The guys sliding live bait have caught a few prodical sons, garrick, kob and kingies. Shad and karenteen are the preferred bait to slide.

Fishing in Durban harbour has been rather productive, even though the weather wasn’t playing along.

Some very nice grunter have come out on running traces with cracker and sardine bait. There have also been some kob on sardine and on chokka bait.

Until next week… tight lines!
