Islam is the finest religion
AFTER careful consideration, J Smith’s article “No use in posturing after a life has passed by” ( POST, November 8-12) and that of Sadhia “Written by Almighty” ( POST, November 15-19) need elaboration for a constructive examination of religion.
In Hinduism, there is no sacred scripture backing celebrating or performing ceremonies for the dead.
Rather, the Vedas state that there should be three days of prayers and not, under any circumstances, to glorify the dead.
Further, in the Hindu Dharma it is said: “Garland a person for his noble deeds rather than laying flowers for the dead, for the dead know not.”
Hinduism is distorted by the Khol believers using God’s name in vain and for their selfish material gain.
Smith distancing himself from the pomp and glory of the ceremony is commendable for not giving in to Khol believers and being part of their schemes.
Sadhia has made a mind blowing impact on non-believers of Islam.
However, to comprehend the Holy Qur’an and to journey through this life and this world as a firm believer is made so simple.
Islam is peace and is the finest religion, taking you back to Allah’s kingdom.
The Qur’an is a sacred book and I treasure it in my home and read it as often as possible.
We must honour and pay homage to Islam for its refined contributions made in uplifting all humanity.
Glory to Allah and to the Holy Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).
Every morning I raise my hands in your name for your guidance and emancipation. LALLO M HARIRAM uMhlanga Ridge
