LUNCH BOX IDEAS
Lunch box ideas courtesy of policewoman, wife and mother to three boys, Shireen Moodly. She loves cooking, baking and entertaining but above all else, Moodly loves spoiling her family with divine cooking.
USERS on our Facebook page, POST Newspaper, shared their lunch box tips…
Emmalinshia Govender:
Chicken, mayo and coleslaw roti wraps. Soya sausage rolls and lettuce. Home-made crumbed chicken fingers, with any sauce. Mini pizzas, made from slices of bread, topped with cheese and mince. Pasta salads with sweet corn, grilled chicken and mixed veggies. Egg muffins. It’s a simple egg mixture, with some cooked mix veg, in a muffin tray for 15 minutes in the oven. Can be kept in an airtight container for at least a week. Yummy served with carrot sticks and cucumber. All these can be made ahead and used.
Shay Gounden:
Tuna sandwiches, peanut butter, fish fingers or fish cakes, fresh fruit chopped up, veggie, cheese, boiled egg and nothing wrong with good old jam sandwiches.
Denny Reddy:
Peanut butter and bread, jam and bread. Both go well with juice.
Leatitia Du Plessis:
Fish bites, chicken nuggets (I&J), chicken strips, egg muffins, burgers, cucumber and mayo sandwiches, tuna, cheese, Melrose, honey bread – instead of jam, and peanut butter.
Yashupal Mohanlal:
Butter bread, peanut bread, jam bread, fish sticks and fish cakes. These should cover five school days.
Krishenchund Ramsaran:
Slice a few potatoes and crumb them. That will be a good healthy lunch. A few tomatoes and lettuce with cheese, jam sandwiches, peanut butter and avocado sandwiches. Where are all those things gone? Why live on junk food? Get over it guys, this is the break we were waiting for to realise how much unhealthy food we have.
