Elderly couple attacked in farm home, wife killed:

■ Shumshard Suliman: Why do they commit these barbaric heinous acts? Where is our human rights?

■ Vasanthee Naidoo: What is happening to this damn country? Bring in the army and death penalty.

■ Shay Gounden: How much more must the people of South Africa endure? Can’t these criminals find a decent job and earn an honest living? I’m sick and tired of hearing that poverty turns one into becoming a murderer or thief. Enough is enough. Mr Cele, we need much more harsh prison sentences.

■ Vasie Maistry: Idiots. You'll steal n still kill the people. What more you’ll want? Innocent people are targets for you. Bring back the death penalty.

Westville neighbours in court over ‘Go back to Chatsworth’ comments:

■ Kashvera Haripersad: Who the hell do they think they are? People from Chatsworth can purchase property wherever the hell they please!

■ Chantal Magdalene Moodley: I live in an Indian area with Indian neighbours and they behave in the exact same manner. It just boils down to jealously. I’ve been living with it for the past 6 years.

■ Prasheem Maharaj: Sadly there is still plenty of space for racists and bigots in this country and in particular around the hilly suburbs of greater Durban. Those few scum seem to be left free to emulate the filthy denigrating activities and favourite pastimes of the colonial past.

■ Shahistha Hassan: Moved to Westville from Jhb 2 yrs ago and similar incident happened to us. SPCA called, neighbours do not greet or acknowledge us till today.

Mom dies in three-car collision in Shallcross after attending a parent meeting: Avika Maharaj: I know this humble family for years, such a tragic incident. May Bhagwan give her sons strength during this painful time.

■ Armaana Raza Syed Ali: Oh shame. This is tragic and very sad.
