THE 56th edition of Art in the Park, sponsored by Creative Arts College and held at the picturesque surroundings of the KZN National Botanical Gardens, Pietermaritzburg, is an event not to be missed.

This year, Art in the Park is collaborating with the Chillanathi Cookout Experience, the 033 Lifestyle Wine and Beer Garden, and is going to be a highlight for all avid gourmet food lovers allowing all visitors to enjoy different aspects of the art experience.

While parents are busy perusing and buying art pieces, young children can look forward to the children’s play area with jumping castles and face painting.

On Saturday, May 5, Creative Arts College’s performing artist will stage a children’s play to entertain its young visitors and the beauty faculty will be hosting a day spa throughout the Art in the Park festival

Creative Arts College will also be holding free art workshops during the Art in the Park festival.

Zama Nxasana, events coordinator of the Msunduzi Pietermaritzburg Tourism association, said: “this year’s Art in the Park exhibition promises to bring an even more exciting family festival.”

“We have no doubt that with the feature of ChillaNathi and 033 Lifestyle, the true value of art will be exercised in so many ways allowing creatives a platform to showcase their talent.

Creatives will also be able to sell their work, therefore participating in the economy and growing markets while doing what they love to do,” Nxasana said.
