BLUE LAGOON ‘HIT AND RUN’

DRIVER GETS 10 YEARS:

■ Dempsey Pillay: 10 years! It’s as good as cold-blooded murder. She ran away from the scene of the accident and tried to get her car repaired to cover up the crime. She murdered two young guys. This is not fair!

■ Ashina Autar-Singh: What happened to our judicial system? 2 innocent lives were taken. You can’t replace that… 10 years for 2 murders? Set an example. Stop pampering murderers. Bring back the death penalty, then only will justice be served and people will think twice about committing crime.

■ Reon Rambhadur: 10 years is too little. She deserves life imprisonment.

■ Michelle van Dyk: Hit and run and 10 years? For 2 lives? Our justice system leaves much to be desired.

ELDERLY COUPLE BEATEN IN ROAD RAGE INCIDENT AS

GRANDKIDS WATCH ■ Karen Pillay: The tolls should have cameras and there are distance tracking cameras as well in that stretch. This should not stop with no action against the perpetrator. He should face the law and perhaps be sent for psychological assessment as he could be a danger to himself and others.

■ JeLece Maart: I hope they at least got his number plate. Find this evil man.

■ Pst Terry Prem Jugdeo: Coward. Don’t ever exit your car for whatever reason. Wait and see the reaction of the other driver 1st then drive to a place of safety. Really sorry plus the other drivers are seriously not right by not giving assistance.

■ Nash Sarabjith: How sad. May that coward meet his match soon. He should try fighting someone his age. Maybe that would teach him a lesson. Allah punish him accordingly. TRUCKS SET ALIGHT AT MOOI

RIVER TOLL PLAZA:

■ Vijaya Nair: Where is the army? No one deployed to address this huge risk to motorists!

■ Pranitha Sheosanker: It’s going to be an ongoing thing. After a long weekend they loot and burn trucks.
