Young and talented

- CHANELLE LUTCHMAN

SIX-year-old Tashmira Azaria Inder is aiming for the stars.

The Grade 1 pupil, who dances, models and acts, was recently selected to perform at the Applause Rising Talent (ARTS) Showcase after she wowed international talent scout Kim Meyers, Nate Butler jr (the producer of the

Steve Harvey Show) and Ravynn Drummer (an independent casting director for Tyler Perry).

Now the Hillary resident is ready to pack her bags and jet off to Orlando, Florida, where she will perform in front of scouts from agencies, dance centres, managers, producers and record labels from around the world, in six different categories – ranging from modelling, dancing and TV commercial.

According to her mom Natasha, she realised her daughter’s talent when she was three.

“When she was three she choreographed her own dance and she could also copy a routine from a dance scene at an early age. It was then that I realised she had something special in her.”

Tashmira, who is part of Just You Model and Artist Management, a company that specialises in managing and facilitating models, actors, singers and dancers in the national and international film and fashion industry, found out about ARTS through her director at the company, Elsubie Verlinden.

“Tashmira performed a fusion dance and modelling sequence. At 1am she got the callback that her audition was successful,” said Natasha.

“Being exposed to worldwide industry professionals will grow her networks and will provide opportunities locally and in the international performing arts industry.”

Tashmira heads for ARTS with her family next month.
