Driven to empower women

-

STAND for something or you’ll fall for anything.

Abigail Nadar Nepaul lives by this motto, which she hopes to instil in the hearts and minds of the young girls and women she coaches.

In 2014, the 35-year-old was SA’s first Teen Wisdom Inc Teen Life Coach from US-based Teen Life Coaching Company after being selected from hundreds of women to train via its first virtual training programme.

Also certified as a life coach with the Neuroscience Leadership Group, Results Coaching, she decided to register her teen life coaching company, The Abigail Nepaul Coaching Academy, for girls (aged 12-19) and women (20-25).

Nadar Nepaul, who has a knack for public speaking, hopes to become one of the foremost women empowerment speakers locally and abroad.

However, she was not always bright-eyed and hopeful as she is today.

It was the trappings of her younger trials, tribulations and transitions that led her to the road of helping others.

“I lost my aunt about 10 years ago. She was like a mother to me and taught me poise, etiquette and confidence. She was my teacher in so many ways. When I lost her, it broke me, but I decided to pick myself up and channel my grief into helping others.”

She now teaches young women to make better choices, value themselves and improve their confidence, self-esteem and future prospects.

Nadar Nepaul coaches teenage school girls on the Top 10 issues affecting them today. These are: identity, friendships, social relationships, school stress, body image, sex, drugs, alcohol, dating and relationships.

She is also a practising attorney, notary and conveyancer, and a contributing author of Simply Women, featuring stories of 30 women who have risen against the odds.

The book was released on International Women’s Day on March 8.

She graduated with an LLB degree in 2004 and was admitted as an attorney, notary and conveyancer in 2007.

She now is the only specialist at Attorneys Anand-Nepaul, situated at the family-owned Royal Towers corporate office in the heart of the Durban CBD.

She is pursuing her post-graduate studies for a Master’s certification in Women Empowerment Coaching through the Simply Woman Accredited Trainer Institute based in Canada, an academic qualification that is poised to escalate her as a Women Empowerment Speaker and Mentor for teenage girls and women.
