Travel to the ABH Fair

-

THE annual community fundraising initiative, the Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair, will be hosted from July 26 to 29 at the Chatsworth Circus site adjacent to the stadium.

“We are excited to announce a really fun-filled programme for this year’s fair, with something planned for all ages and tastes,” said Jay Marrie, the fundraising/donor relations for the Aryan Benevolent Home.

“The fair, which has been running since 1989, is always a highlight on the Chatsworth community calendar and we have planned an even bigger event for this year’s celebrations.”

Since 1921, the ABH has provided holistic care for children, the elderly and the physically or mentally challenged regardless of race, religion or social class. The fair is the primary source of funding for this non-profit organisation, which provides residential facilities and developmental care to more than 690 people nationally.

Pupils who attend the fair will enjoy a host of activities. There is free entrance for all pupils to the fair, which boasts more than 100 food and retail stalls.

There will also be a special open day on July 26 and 27 for all primary and secondary schools.

The fair will host a dedicated edufair schools programme on both days. For just R40, scholars get access to unlimited carnival rides at Tommy’s World Fair.

Two Bollywood playback celebrities – Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Amit Kumar – will put on two special evening performances.

One is at the Durban City Hall on July 27. The cost is R1 250 per person or R12 500 for a table of 10. They will perform at the circus site the following evening from 8pm to 11pm. The cost of unreserved seating is R100 and R150. Entry to the fair on Friday and Sunday is R20 for adults and R10 for children and R35 for adults and R20 for children on Saturday.
