PRAYERS

■ The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) will host Sri Krishna Janmastami celebrations in oThongathi on Saturday at the Vishwaroop Temple between 6.30pm and 9pm.

■ The Hillgrove Vishnu Shakti Mandir will observe Gita Week from August 27 at 6.30pm, Shri Krishna Janmastami on September 3 and Shri Ganesh Chaturti on September 13 at the AMF Temple Hall in Newlands West.

■ The Shree Gopal Lal Hindu Temple in Temple Valley, Verulam, will observe Gita Week from August 27 to September 3. The programme includes daily discourses on weekdays at 6.30pm and weekends at 4pm. Krishna Janmastami will be celebrated on September 3 from 6.30pm until midnight.

■ The Shri Luxmi Narayan Temple will hold Gita recitals daily from 6pm to 8pm on weekdays and at 4pm to 6pm on weekends from August 27 to September 2. Krishna Janmastami will be celebrated on September 3 from 7pm until midnight.

■ The Shree Ranganathar Temple society in Greenwood Park will observe Shree Varaluxmi Viratham and Kuthuvillaku on Friday from 6pm.

■ The Mariannhill Shri Siva Soobramoniar Alayam will observe Varaluxmi Viratham on Friday at 6pm.

■ The Kalyana Subramaniyar Alayam of Phoenix will observe Varaluxmi Viratham and Kuthuvillaku on Friday at 6.30pm.
