How to look light and glowing

-

FROM fuchsia pink to crimson red lips and shimmery eye shadow, this Spring is all about being bright and bold.

The celebrity make-up artist and owner of Etre-Belle studio, Neil Ramautar, said it was time to put away your matt lip colour and opt for glossy lips in pinks, purples and reds.

“Crimson and pink tones never seem to go out of season and to compliment beautiful lips, one’s skin should be illuminated to look light and glowing. Make sure you use a good moisturiser and light foundation.”

As for eye make-up, Ramautar said metallic blue and shimmery and glittery shades are in style, complemented by a flushed or sun-kissed cheek.

“The cat-eye look has also made its way back, the Kardashian sisters influencing the smokey-eye look.”

And what should one stay away from? “Heavy foundation and contouring and heavy eyelash extensions.”

Etre-Belle studio nail artist Kimi Aniruth said trending nail colours were pastels, including pink, lilac and peachytones, with people opting for the ombre effect or glitter nail art. The nail shape trending is the ballerina (coffin).

Hairstylist Kesh Moodley, said that when choosing to add colour to your tresses, peachy strawberry tones and soft or enhanced tones were a must.

“Remember, just a little colour can add life to the hair. The lob cut is still a favourite, but you can also add layers or go for the wave style for an effortless and timeless look.

“A good shampoo and conditioner is essential. Add a treatment twice a month to keep the colour and condition of your hair healthy and shining.”
