If you’re still scrambling for gift ideas, here are some top tips from Booth for this season:
● For Mom:
“Duck Egg” is a popular colour this year – so whatever you buy, look for the “duck egg” option – it’s quite a calming, soft colour for anyone. Moms usually spend a lot of their time taking care of the family, so anything that can pamper her this Christmas will be a sure win. A variety of pampering, hair, nail and bath packages are available during this time. If mom has a hobby that she likes – it’s great to buy a gift that would enhance or add to her hobby.
● For Dad:
My trend pick for dads is the awesome cologne sets that go on sale during this time, or even those nifty braai coal prep mechanisms that get your braai coal ready for braaing. For the dads who have a “Salt Bae” flair – this is a great time to personalise any cooking and baking utensils that encourages men in the kitchen. Cool gadgets like binoculars, iPads or Kindles are my picks for the festive season.
● For the Kids:
The Nintendo Switch! I think this console is one of the most user-friendly, innovative gaming consoles for both kids and adults and boasts a variety of childfriendly gaming (not like most of the hardcore games out there more for an adult player) that is also exciting and fun for babies like me! The Switch is actually my 2018 pick of the year.
● For Teens:
Prepaid yearly data deals! A teen can never have enough data. You also can’t go wrong with clothing – teens are generally in a space of self-discovery and buying them clothing items that help them express themselves is great. I’ve noticed a lot of the millennials are dressing up ‘90s style and that’s really cool.
● For Young Adults:
Young adults want to have a great time and look good doing it! My trend picks are board games like Cards Against Humanity or that are any novelty pop culture item/reference like the Funko Pop Figurines – I’m collecting the Ninja Turtles and I need Donatello, Michael Angelo and Splinter (just saying!). Clothing that has pop culture branding is also a sure win.
● For a Romantic Partner:
Do something memorable, like a holiday or a skydiving course. Something fun and exciting as the main gift and then you could always include stocking fillers like online shopping vouchers from Loot.co.za, which couples can use to shop together.
