‘Badla’ movie stars biggest names
IN 2016 Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu teamed up for the award-winning hit movie Pink. Now, film-maker Sujoy Ghosh will direct the superstars in a new revenge drama.
Titled Badla, the story is inspired by a Spanish movie and will be produced by Shah Rukh Khan.
There are also rumours that King Khan has been roped in for a cameo appearance.
Another big project to look out for is the multistarrer space flick Mission Mangal.
Said to be the story of India’s Mars mission, the movie brings together a great cast, including Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menon.
Incidentally, a US film-maker named Radha Bhardwaj is now seeking a lawsuit to halt the production of the movie, claiming the script was based on an idea she developed a few years ago and shared with producer Atul Kasbekar, who, apparently, in turn shared it with leading lady Balan. The team behind
Mission Mangal are yet to release a statement.
After being appreciated
for her roles in Mubarakan,
Baadshaho and Raid, Ileana D’Cruz has bagged another big project.
The actress has been signed to star opposite John Abraham in a light-hearted comedy titled
Pagalpanti. The remainder of the cast includes Anil Kapoor and Arshad Warsi.
After the success of the action
film Satyameva Jayate, Abraham is set to team up yet again with film-maker Nikhil Advani for the
action thriller Batla House.
Based on a police encounter that took place in 2008, the movie has the hunky actor playing the role of Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, the police officer who spear-headed the Batla House encounter.
Anushka Sharma is set to round off the year with another top-notch performance. After winning loads of acclaim for her role in Sui Dhaaga, the actress will play the role of Aafia in Zero, where her character suffers from cerebral palsy.
While promoting the eagerly awaited movie – where she also teams up with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif – the actress dispelled rumours of a pregnancy, claiming the news was “silly and unnecessary”.
