Show pays tribute to Billy Joel

- POST REPORTER

A TRIBUTE show to singer Billy Joel will be held at the iZulu Theatre, Sibaya Casino, from April 18 to 28.

Piano Man: The Billy Joel Show will feature Australian-born musician and piano man Steven Michael, who will bring to life the highlights of Joel’s career.

This will be done on piano, guitar and vocals, bolstered by saxophone solos, and backing vocals to make up that authentic, streets-of-New-York Billy Joel sound.

As one of the most consummate songwriters, storytellers and most-loved musicians in popular music, Joel’s work has infiltrated the lives of generations and played soundtrack to memorable moments for many people around the world.

The producer, director and chief executive officer of the Showtime Australia Group, Johnny van Grinsven, said: “Billy Joel is a one-of-a-kind performer, who exuded such great energy on the piano and on stage.

“The key ingredients in this show are the live musicians. There’s nothing quite like a group of brilliant performers coming together to create a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s what brings a show to life and fans are in for a treat with this new tribute concert experience.”

Audiences will be serenaded with ageless classics such as New York State Of Mind, Just The Way You Are, Always a Woman, Uptown Girl, Only The Good Die Young, You May Be Right and Tell Her About It.

Tickets can be purchased via Computicket, Checkers and Shoprite retail stores at R250 each.
