PHOENIX HUSBAND CONFESSES TO SLITTING WIFE’S THROAT:

● Shireen Bhyrodoyal: I’m beginning to think there’s something in the water here in Phoenix. Some crazy things have been happening here recently.

● Shiksha Rampersad: Really sad. It’s a pity there’s no support for people in his late wife’s situation. Although the people around them knew their situation, nobody could help relieve their plight. He may have been a depressed and helpless man.

● Meryl Pather Chetty: This is sad. The fact that she was bedridden and he cared for her all this time, shows that he loved her. Easy for us to sit here and judge. How many of us needs to care for an adult full-time – feed them, bath them, change them and wash them when they soil themselves? It’s not easy. What he did was wrong. Maybe he needed help and did not see any way out. May her soul rest in peace.

● Nirasha Hunsraj: This is just too sad and heartbreaking. These old people needed help. I wonder if they had any family or community support.

● Charlene Singh: The world has gone crazy.

● Cynthia Reddy: We don’t know what happened in that home but it’s a sad day to hear of that poor auntie.

‘EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIR’ EMERGES IN PHOENIX TRIPLE MURDER CASE:

● Somashnie Leigh Rajkaran: Beyond sick. I’m beside myself to think that two young people lost their lives because of an affair. This is according to the news. How selfish can a person be?

● Michelle Poobalan Gooriah: And at that time people were saying it was her poor husband.

● Terusha Singh: Please do not speak badly about them. Instead pray for justice to be served… No matter what the issues was, he had no right to kill them. He is a monster for what he did to my family. He robbed them of their lives. We are still hurting knowing what he did to her. And it hurts more when you see people saying stuff about my auntie and her kids. They (are) no more on this Earth to voice for themselves. Furthermore, if it were one of your families, I’m sure you wouldn’t want people to be badmouthing them. And you’ll don’t know what was happening between closed doors, between the husband and wife relationship, so I kindly request you all to not say anything negative about my auntie and cousins.

NEWCASTLE COUPLE FOUND DEAD AT HOME:

● Sanjay Maharaj: Have men become so emotionally fragile that they can’t handle challenges in a relationship and have to resort to violence? That’s a tragedy in itself !

● Jennifer Pather: I cannot stand it when people think killing is a way out, leaving innocent kids to face such trauma. I mean if we, as parents, can’t think of our kids, do you think others will and if they do, how long before they are faced with challenges? There’s a big bad world out there, don’t damn put yourselves before your damn kids!

● Damanundh Juwlal: People, this must stop now. It’s unfair to all involved.

ANOTHER MULTIMILLION-RAND SHOPPING MALL EARMARKED FOR DURBAN:

● Tash Chutri: Another shopping mall but no houses, a failed Health Department, a failed education system and a failed government.

● Ravash Singh: Maybe build more houses for the people. Malls are for the rich and greedy.

● Karlos Govender: Malls for more looting.

● Presley Govender: Why don’t you build more houses, and improve the education system and condition of hospitals? It’s pointless building a mall if you don’t have the basics in place. Hospitals and education should be your priority.

● Sarishka Govender: Why not complete the building, or renovations, of the Newlands Shopping Centre that has been at a standstill for so many years?.

● Telesha Thavar-Pillay: We have enough malls. Focus on the schools and proper transportation for kids from rural areas. Fix the damaged infrastructure.

● Heidi Sooriah: The country and its people are suffering every day (trying) to make ends meet. Why can’t the government see that before spending millions on a mall and in Chatsworth? So many buildings are left incomplete because of no funds. This is senseless.

● Christina Chetty: We need more graveyards, more schools and more hospitals. We don’t need more malls!

DURBAN WOMAN RUNS INTO BURNING BUILDING TO SAVE AUNT’S BLIND CAT:

● Aadila Philip: Wow! This is amazing. God bless her!

● Molly Govender: Such humanity. May she be forever blessed.

● Pearl Mahabir Naicker: Wow! A brave woman with a beautiful heart!

● Mirashini Royan: She’s a real hero.
