Newly-weds unite on screen
THE recently-wed Kollywood star couple Samantha and Naga Chaitanya will unite for their first movie together after tying the knot.
They will star in Majili, about a youngster’s unfulfilled dream of becoming a great cricketer, and a failed romance which leaves him disillusioned. This adds pressure on his family life. In spite of the love, support and encouragement from a caring wife, the youngster remains unhappy.
Will it be too late for him to count his blessings?

Double Oscar winner AR Rahman has just announced the release of his maiden movie as a producer and writer, titled 99
Songs. The film is a passionate love story with music as its soul and will be released worldwide on June 21 in theatres, in three languages – Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

There’s great news for fans of this stunning actress. Shruti, the elder daughter of Kamalhassan, last had a Tamil outing with Singam 3 in 2017 opposite Suriya. The news out now is that she will be starring opposite Vijay Sethupathy in a yet-to-be-titled movie to be directed by Jananathan.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s 167th movie is directed by AR Murugadas. The poster of the yet-to-be-titled film shows Rajini essaying the role of a police officer. The poster has heightened expectations of the movie. Filming has started in Mumbai. Nayanthara plays the female lead.

Telugu actor Mahesh Babu is leaving no stone unturned to amp up the excitement of his fans for his upcoming movie,
Maharshi. The poster reveals three distinct looks for the actor, two as Rishi, a swanky entrepreneur, and the other as that of an angry young man. After his remarkable performance as a chief minister in Bharat Ane Nenu, much is expected of him this time.

Trisha has been scoring with backto-back hits with her most appreciated performance as Jaanu in last year’s romantic 96, and her special appearance as Rajinikanth’s wife in this year’s Pongal
hit Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj, She will join hands with director M Saravanan, who is known for his debut super hit, Engeyum Eppodhum.
Touted to be a strong female-centric subject, this movie, which is said to have its story penned by director AR Murugadoss, will have cinematographer KA Sakthivel of Sandakozhi 2 fame on the team. Filming will start on April 19.
