BEST wishes go out to outgoing Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela whose seven-year term of office ended on Friday.

Thank you for a job well done in the face of strong opposition, adversity, bureaucracy and political interference at times.

You have left a splendid legacy which will be a hard act to follow. Your integrity, commitment, sound work ethic and doggedness are sterling qualities which enabled you to undertake your diverse functions and fulfil your onerous duties and responsibilities competently, in terms of section 182 of the RSA Constitution (Act no 108 of 1996).
