GOLFtips

THIS week’s tip focuses on the ball position for the lady golfer and helping her stay down on shots to get the proper height.

The key to flight in golf shots is to get that divot under the ball when making contact. Pick your spot a millimetre before the ball. Hit this point and make your divot from there.

A drill to practise is to make swings with your feet together – and make sure during the swings you brush the grass.

This will get you into the routine of staying down on shots and making its easier to get the ball to take flight.

The next step to better golf shots is to keep your ball position inside your front foot. You will catch the ball on your upswing and your maximum flight on the club will be achieved.

The most important aspects in golf come from the set-up position.

I’ve seen many good golfers try to correct too many factors in the swing motion rather than the set-up position. Focus on your set up and you will be in the correct position during the actual swing.
