The vic­to­ri­ous Cen­tral Gaut­eng snooker team at the in­au­gu­ral East Coast Cup Cham­pi­onship hosted by KZN Snooker in Mont­clair re­cently. The vis­i­tors, from left, Praveen Nair, Yougash Pil­lay, Mukesh Daya, Ryan Ge­orge, Faraad James, Gra­ham Bri­ton, Fakhrie Gier­dien and Alvin Har­ris, beat KZN by 65 frames to 63 over the two-day event. KZN’s Dean Changel­ryan made the high­est break of 83 in the tour­na­ment which had two eight-man teams com­pet­ing on a round robin ba­sis with each player play­ing two frames against each player from the op­po­si­tion. The cham­pi­onship was con­cep­tu­alised as a re­cip­ro­cal event af­ter KZN for the first time fea­tured in the Walker Cup, an an­nual Cen­tral Gaut­eng tour­na­ment held in Sandton ear­lier this year. KZN Snooker hope to make this an an­nual event.
