An impressive sight with its glass façade while driving into the city centre of Cape Town from the N1, The Westin – neighbouring the Cape Town International Convention Centre – is an iconic building in the Mother City. This five-star hotel has so much more to offer than the ideal location from which to explore Cape Town.

A Good Night’s Rest

Comfort is something that is a universal want – most people want to be able to jump into a cosy, plush bed after a day of exploring a new city, or business meetings. Unique to The Westin brand is Heavenly® Beds – each room in the hotel features one of these beds so that guests wake up feeling refreshed. To further assist you in one of the best night’s rest you will ever have, on the bedside table after turn down is The Westin’s Wind Down Balm, a blend of lavender and chamomile to rub onto your arms and temples to relax.

Food with Views

An experience not to be missed out on is dining at ON19, the onsite restaurant at The Westin. Named after its 19th floor location, ON19 focuses on creating meals with bold flavours and healthy ingredients.

Breakfast is a buffet affair with a range of fruit and vegetable platters with dips, fresh fruit juices, super juices, and smoothies. Cold meats and pastries along with a range of cheeses make for a wide variety of choices for breakfast starters.

The à la carte breakfast menu includes traditional breakfast choices as well as a range for the more health conscious. An English breakfast, eggs benedict, eggs Florentine, omelettes, crêpes, and French toast are options alongside choices such as buckwheat waffles; zucchini, pea, and cauliflower pakoura; egg white pizza; and chia breakfast pudding.

One of the jewels in the crown of The Westin is the Heavenly Spa, with a variety of treatments on offer to pamper guests in order to leave them feeling rejuvenated.

The Superfoodsrx™ logo indicates Superfoodsrx™ dishes, which specifically pair whole foods to boost their nutritional benefits and flavours.

Besides the delicious range of foods to choose from and enjoy, certainly one of the most distinctive features of ON19 is the sweeping view of the metropolitan of Cape Town, extending to the Waterfront as well as Table Mountain.

This view is just as captivating during dinner time when the lights of the city are twinkling, accompanied by another comprehensive menu. There are many international influences, with South African touches, that can be seen in the gourmet options which include marinated squid, papaya salsa, and tapioca crisp; aromatic shitake mushroom broth, pepper chicken tortellini, cashew nut pesto, and chili oil; and parsnip, pear and potato soup with peppered goats cheese for starters. The mains include mouth-watering options such as honeyglazed duck breast with rooibos infused risotto, Karan beef tenderloin with 24hour braised short rib, and red drum sea bass accompanied by seaweed gnocchi and naartjie purée.

Have a Session of Pampering

One of the jewels in the crown of The Westin is the Heavenly Spa. This award-winning spa has 15 treatment rooms, a sauna, hot tub, and pool with an unsurpassed view of the Cape Town Foreshore, and a variety of treatments on offer to pamper guests in order to leave them feeling rejuvenated. To make guests feel like royalty, the 24 Carat Gold Cleopatra Face Mask is the ultimate in facial indulgence. Lay back while the spa therapist applies a mud made up of the finest ingredients to heal and nourish the skin, before a mask of 24 carat gold is applied to the face for its anti-aging properties.

Other treatments include a range of massages, body exfoliation and wrap, manicures and pedicures, and facials. For the ultimate in rejuvenation, make an afternoon into one of utmost pampering with one of the packages offered by Heavenly Spa, which combine a range of treatments.
